To Kathy, Bekki, Rumika and others, The problem of selecting THE BEST CONTRACEPTIVE PILL surfaces now and again on this board. It has to be emphasised THERE IS NO PILL to treat PCOS (with the partial exception of Diane, which is able to counter the excess androgens produced by the polycystic ovaries). The problem of selecting an appropriate pill for any women is as old as the pill itself (more than 40 years) and no way of predicting the reaction of a certain women exists. The only way is the trial and error method, but again: the pill is no treatment for PCOS. Thus it seems to be futile to suggest any particular brand of pill to each other. For cycle regulation the administration of gestagens is much better than taking any contraceptive, and there is room for estragen treatment as well in cases of prolonged bleeding. Sam (Ob/Gyn, RE)
