Mine have been like that for years. I just started met so it cannot be that. I have my nails "done" every two weeks. My nail technician does not use nail tips and glue. They worsen the problem. She uses pink and white acrylic and nail forms to form my nails when I break one. This works great. My nails always look great, and I feel better about myself having them done. PCOS has so many negative things about it and does so much to our bodies. Having my nails looking nice is my way of fighting back and feeling a little bit better about myself. You should find a good nail technician and try it. I feel much better and my nails rarely break with the acrylic once my nail has grown out under it. I sometimes break them when it is almost time for a fill-in on car doors etc., but they are pretty tough. Most people think that they are may natural nails. My husband has complained about our budjet and a few things had to go, but he knows that my nail appts every two weeks are a must have. It makes me feel like I look a little better. Good luck! Angela
-- Hi! I can sympathize with the nails. Mine have been brittle, break easily and chipped off for years. I just started on Metformin,so that can't be my problem. The solution that works for me is acrylic nails. My nail technician does not use nail tips (they are worse on your nails). She uses forms if my original nail isn;t long enough. I have had them for years now, and do fine with them. We take off and reapply periodically. I get them filled in every two weeks and they look great. People think they are actually my natural nails. The acrylic protects my nails and keeps them neat looking. PCOS has so many effects on our bodies, having nice looking nails makes me feel at least a little attractive. Good Luck. Angela
