Hello. In my case, I think you're asking for a miracle BCP. I have not heard of ANY BCP that actually causes you to LOSE weight---they all have the tendancy to cause you to GAIN weight--usually gradually. There are some types that have higher estrogen levels, which are "reported" to keep the acne and hair problem at bay, but they don't work for everyone. As for the mood swings, again, that varies between pill and the user. I haven't noticed any mood swings with mine (Ortho Novum), but I did notice the weight GAIN and the acne and hair growth did not stop or slow down by any means. This can also vary by the number immediately following the type (Ortho Novum 1/28, 1/35, etc.). They indicate the number of days in a cycle and sometimes indicate the levels of the estrogen that that particular pill carries. Basically, you need to talk to your Dr. and just keep trying different ones to see what works for you. No one can predict how any one BCP is going to work in your body or how it may affect you. I was on about 4 different ones within 2 years before finally ending with the Ortho Novum 1/35. It's a trial and error process. Good luck.
