J,

I'd definitely take the metformin aned chlomid first. Metformin will address the insulin resistance issues and by doing so, some of the women have been fortunate enough to begin ovulating on their own! I would take the metformin for at least 3 months before beginning the clomid, though. That will give the metformin a chance to work with your system. If you waited a bit longer before starting the clomid, that might help your chances too.

>From what I've read, the ovarian drilling isn't highly successful. It is also a surgery, and any surgery has some risks involved.

My heart and prayers go out to you.

Hugs,

Shelley

I am currently deciding on my next step in my battle to conceive my first child. I am 30 years old and was diagnosed with PCOS about 5 months ago.

My doc has given me the choice of a 6 month regimen of metformin and chlomid. I've done chlomid before and was still not ovulating.

He is also suggesting ovarian drilling.

Any advice on which route to take?

J
