Zowie,

I didn't read this til late Sunday night, but if you haven't gotten better by now....please make sure you're attempting to keep yourself hydrated.....that means sipping water (perhaps something like PEDIALITE would be better since you're losing electrolites in the diarrhea and vomiting and this will help replenish them.....Gatorade or a sports drink may help too). The memory loss stuff is for several reasons....stress being number one. For now, just focus on getting you thru this step and back on your feet. Easier said than done, I know..... The memory loss can also be a side effect of becoming dehydrated. Your brain needs fluids to function properly, as do the rest of your organs.....if you're severely dehydrated, they can begin to gradually shut down as a method of trying to preserve the needed energy for the most important organs. If you're still experiencing all this and the doctor isn't concerned, I'd consider keeping track of INTAKE AND OUTPUT of all fluids. I know....this is a YUCKY idea, but that means catching all "output" in a pail or something and measuring it. This is what they would do in the hospital. That way, you'd have more "ammunition" to bring the urgency of importance to your case when you find a doctor who will listen!

Hope you're feeling better and won't need this...

Hugs,

Shelley spryte@dnsonline.net
