I just recently started treatment in July, but I was told I had Stein-Leventhal Syndrome 20+ years ago. That's what PCOS was called then. My ENT/allergist helped me find out about PCOS and treatment. When I did my research I went to my GP and she said that she had treated someone with PCOS with Glucophage who had come to her after finding out about a study that she (the patient) wasn't eligble for because she didn't have diabetes. My GP had a Glucose tolerance test done, put me on the glucophage after seeing the results and referred me to an endo who is the best in the Louisville, KY, area for treating PCOS. AND on my next appointment with my GYN, who was clueless about PCOS, I took what I had printed out and gave it to her.

I've since found out that a RE associated with U of L also treats PCOS, but I'm happy with my Endo.
