Help, My girlfriend of 4 serious years was finally diagnosed with PCOS. We have faced a veritable mountain to even reach this stage. Looking at all the information on the web It seemed pretty obvious to us what the problem was but to her primary care physician she was a mystery and a "project". We waited four months to see an endocrinologist. We finally saw him and he told us that she has PCOS, well duh. But after that he blathered on about how this is a very complex, syndrome. We asked him about the hair growth, he told us nothing. Said to try vaniqa. Is that the only thing on the market???? We asked about the weight gain, he dodged the question. We asked again, dodged. Again, dodged. So finally after 45 minutes of wasted time, we left. He never set forth a treatment plan. Never told us what he was planning on doing to help alleviate the problems. The way he made it out is that PCOS is more widespread than thought but we don't know what it is and don't know how to fix anything about it. He almost said live with it. Is there anyone in the state of Kansas that can competently treat PCOS without feeling like you have to show us how smart you are? Is this doctor even halfway clued in as to the specifics of the syndrome? HELP
