Hi there. First off, NEVER assume that you have any medical condition based on what you read. It's normal to be questionable, but don't automatically assume "I've got this". That puts way too much stress on your shoulders and may end up making you closed minded to another "potential" problem. I've never heard that a lack of a period is PMS related. Did your Dr. specifically explain that possibility?? A lack of a period could be caused by stress, not necessarily a medical problem. PMS manifests itself in many different ways, and not ALL women experience it often, if at all. As for the excess facial hair, that too, may not be a medical problem. My grandmother had such a hairy chin that she'd have to use scissors to cut the hairs. As for the heavy bleeding, that makes sense if you're only having a few periods a year. When you're on the pill, you're adding estrogen into your system. The extra estrogen alone can actually prevent you from having a period (that's why some women continue taking the "active" pill and DON'T take the "placebo" pill if they don't want their period). It allows your endometrium (uterine lining) to build up rather than shed, so when you finally DO have a period, all of that build up is what you're seeing. I went through the same thing, except I've ALWAYS had the heavy, frequent, and sometimes nonstop bleeding. Having a foul odor and discharge is also actually normal. The only time you need to worry is if the discharge is cheesy and white---potentially a yeast infection. Regarding the depression, sleepiness and tiredness (or fatigue) is a _classic_ symptom of the depression. So again, that's not necessarily a symptom of a different medical condition. Craving sweets and being overweight---again, not necessarily an "alert" so to speak. Cravings are different than NEEDING a certain type of food. We all have cravings, but some people get an urge for let's say salad. This could be a sign from your body telling you it needs vegetables. Or if you have an urge for punch, you may need sugar. Those aren't "cravings", they're kind of a "necessity urge". Your body is telling you what it's lacking. Acne is another "effect" of depression I recently learned, usually caused by stress. So if you're question is "Do I have PCOS?" the truth is, no one here can answer that; only a doctor can. If you're asking "Is what I'm experiencing symptoms of PCOS?" that's kinda tricky to answer, since what you're going through is explainable by depression or normalities. Your best bet is to speak to your doctor, or talk to a GYN or Reproductive Endocrinologist. They'd be the best qualified to properly address and answer your concerns. You may just end up needing an anti depressant. Don't throw yourself into this PCOS boat without knowing the facts first. You may be making things much worse than what they truly are. Explain all of your anxieties and "symptoms" to your doctor and see what they tell you. Of course, if it is PCOS or any other medical condition, only tests, such as blood work, will determine the truth. Good luck to you!
