Re: Weight lossFrom: Lisa (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 25 Jan 2001 11:18:53 -0600 (CST)
I can agree with you both. I have been on Metformin several months and have not seen a difference in my hip/waist ratio. That is what you should check for. PCOSers gain weigh (or swell-up) around their mid-section. So, from what I understand, we should be looking to see if we gain actual hips and a thinning waistline. I have yet to see a difference yet. I am losing weight, but I am doing weight watchers and it has helped me a lot. I have lost 63 pounds and still have over a hundred to go. I hope the Metformin helps to accelerate my weight loss. But till then, I have been taking weight loss into my own hands. I am on Wellbuterine and it is helping with my food cravings. It is the same medication as Zyban which helps people stop smoking. I am not a compulsive eater anymore. I just stopped eating so many carbs. I have been eating whole grains and green veggies. We will see tonight at my W.W. weigh in if I have lost any weight this week. I hope so. --Lisa :o)
