Hello Laurie -

I was on Met a few weeks before I saw a noticable decrease in facial hair (thickness and growth rate). Over the course of several months I lost about 20 lbs. I wasn't as hungry (partly due to nausea and diaherra sp?). After 8 months my testosterone level went from 64 (really high for a woman) to 24 (normal range for a woman). I'm not sure about the regular periods as I am on birth control pills prior to starting infertility treatment (to lower LH levels). My triglycerides are lower and my overall cholesterol is lower.

Overall, I feel that I have much better control of my PCOS symptoms; however, it took a while to find the correct dosage for me (1700 mg a day). Other people take less or more depending on your reaction to the medication.

Good luck to you! Ruth ;-)
