Considering MedsFrom: laurie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 21 Jan 2001 21:03:41 -0600 (CST)
Hello and thanks. I am new to the net and this site. i have appreciated reading your discussions. I was told that I had PCOS a few years back when being treated for infertility. I wasn't told of treatment options beyond fertility issues. Now I have become aware of Met and thru your discussions also aware of other medications. I am puzzled. My goal would be regular periods, decreased hair growth in places where it doesn't belong, weight loss, and decreasing the long term risks of heart disease.... I have a doctor who wrote a prescription for me for Met, but he doesn't know anything about it and is going by articles that I gave him. I feel like I am treating myself so I need information...positive effects? at what dose and how long after starting? Side effects? please share your experiences. Thanks!!
