Hello - I'm not sure if Advil is okay for the male partner; however, since Advil (and other ibuprofen) is made with or from male hormones it can aggrivate PCOS for the female. My Reproductive Endo. would not allow any female patient to take ibuprofen during the cycle since it can prevent the woman from ovulating.

I was in a very high stress job several years ago and was taking about 4-6 ibuprofen a day to prevent migraines. Several months on this, I started having the worse PCOS symptoms ever. I stopped the ibuprofen and it got better. (later changed jobs, too)

It sure had an effect on me. Not sure about adverse effects on the male partner.

Good luck! Ruth ;-)
