Before spending thousands on laser hair reduction, please be aware of several things. There have been no long term studies to prove its effectiveness and safety. The FDA forbids the use of the term "permanent hair removal" for a laser method. They have allowed the term "permanent hair reduction". This is allowed because terminal hair (coarse)that was treated grew back fine. However, I learned, while becoming an electrologist, that a terminal hair follicle that was insufficiently treated will send out a finer hair but gradually those hairs will become terminal again. AT best, laser hair reduction is another temporary method of hair removal. For those who have not been satisfied with electrolysis, I say, find a better electrologist. There are good and bad in every profession. Electrolysis is still the only method of permanent hair REMOVAL. If an area is treated and cleared by electrolysis on a regular basis, by 6 months you should see improvement. If you don't, go somewhere else. Visit the American Electrology Association's web site at: http://www.electrology.com. Find a board certified electrologist there with the letters, CPE after his or her name. Ask questions and find answers.
