Re: are there herbal substitutions for gluchophage & spironolacton???From: Bronwyn (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 14 Jan 2001 21:22:22 -0500
Sherri, I've been in your shoes about four years ago, however I was fortunate enough to have a full time job with insurance. If you live in the US, and if your hubby's company has more than a certain number (I think it's 50) employees, they should be offering you COBRA benefits, where you could pay your own premiums for a time and keep the coverage. It's not cheap, though! Sorry to hear that things haven't worked out for you in your marriage, But congrats about the meds working for you with PCOS!!! If you could use a friend to talk to, please feel free to contact me direct at spryte@dnsonline.net . If you haven't done so already, I'd strongly advise you find a divorce support group. You can contact area churches, school counselors, and maybe even the local Parents Without Partners groups for possible groups in your area. I went thru one and it was a Godsend. Many of my friends are from that group and a few friends who also went thru divorces went to other divorce support groups and they said it was really helpful to them too. It's just sometimes nice to have a "safe" place to talk about the pain and anger and all the crazy emotions you'll experience and have people who really understand because they've been there too. Even though you're the one who made the choice for the divorce, you can expect a roller coaster of emotions to hit you. I don't know what your situation was, but mine was my choice too, although I only chose it after trying everything else to make things work. It takes a lot of courage to get out of a bad marriage especially if it's been emotionally abusive. Best wishes to you as you step into the future! Hugs, Shelley spryte@dnsonline.net
