Re: Glucophage and ...nails?

Hi Jenny, and welcome to the board. I'm not positive if the Glucophage (also known as Metformin, which I was just recently put on) causes the nail problem---but my nails have been that way for some time now. I was diagnosed in April '99 with PCOS, but I believe I've had it since 10/11 around the time I started my periods. My nails are very, VERY soft---they literally bend, except for my thumb nails. Those are the only hard ones I have. My nails typically always get knicked (just my luck) and end up peeling off at the tips. I've yet to find a reason for this, but I thought it was just me. Maybe it has something to do with PCOS, since my nails have been like this ever since I can remember, and I was only put on the Met this Tuesday. So I'm not positive about the answer, but it's certainly not a dumb question. (Have you seen some of MINE lately??)
