Some simple questions....From: marie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 7 Jan 2001 12:06:19 -0600 (CST)
I am 19 and have just been diagnosed with PCOS my doctor has perscribed me prometrium to take 7 days out of every month. I have some questions however, my doctor says insulin resistence is my problem--- so why doesn't she treat the problem instead of the symptom, also I have read many things about prometrium mostly that it is used as a fertility drug and given to menalpausal women--- I am neither of these so why am i on it?? What are some of the things that insulin resistance effects besides PCOS-- what are some other ways to treat PCOS-- what are the side effects of these treatments?? I know its alot of questions but any answers or words of advice would be great!! thanks marie
