Re: PCOS and sympotmsFrom: Carol (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 30 Dec 2000 18:57:53 -0600 (CST)
Hi Nancy, I too had a hard time getting a proper diagnosis. It has taken me close to a year. I have almost all the clinical syptoms, but whenever I had bloodwork done, it always came back normal. All the doctors kept telling me nothing was wrong with me. I finally went to the PCOS website and looked up a local support chapter in my area and asked for a list of doctors that specialize in PCO patients. I am pleased with my new doctor - she said that even though bloodwork may appear to be normal, there are varing degrees of PCOS. I was just diagnosed last week. It is important to find a doctor who specializes in this disease. Many doctors including the ones that told me I was normal say that they are familiar with PCOS, but they are not. Hope this helps.
