Jen, My Primary Physician has recently put me on Merida - thinking it will help with weight loss - however - if your are IR, you will need to treat that (I Feel) in order to loose the weight. Generally speaking your weight gain was caused from your PCOS. I think Glucophage w/clomiphene and or Actos might work better than the Merida - but I am not a Dr......but I have read A LOT about the med's out there and what they can do. Also - if your are currently and/or currently trying to conceive - stop taking the Merida!!!! A new investigation is being done ( per my local news channel) and should not be in your blood system if your are or are trying to become pregnant. Anyone else out there with some insight? Hope this helps - alittle. My suggestion is to do as much reading as you can - you won't believe it - but sometimes you can provide your doctor w/info they didn't know about. I speak from personal experience. You'll be in my thoughts - hope you have some luck...Staceylynne
