Hi everyone. Don't know if you'll remember me, but I'm 24 and just diagnosed with PCOS this past April. I am FINALLY going to see a military "specialist" on Jan. 2nd but am still doubtful as to what will happen. I had been on BCPs for about 1½ years and it finally regulated me, but I still have the heavy bleeding and clotting. In November, my new doctor (since we transferred) put me on the "strongest" form of BCP for 3 months and it's made my bleeding worse. On top of that, I've been getting terrible abdominal/ovary pain that lasts for HOURS. This Doc finally got me a referral to the specialist but refused to put it in as ASAP or Acute--she put it in as "routine", meaning 30 days to make me an appt. My fear is that the military will STILL tell me there is nothing they can do other than keep me on BCPs but I know from all of you out there who post on this board that there are many different treatments and meds they can try. Has anyone else had this problem where their doctor actually REFUSED treatment? Both doctors I have had have actually told me they'll try the BCPs and if they don't work there's nothing they can do. PERIOD. They also won't give me anything for the pain or bleeding issue I'm having, unless I'm trying to get pregnant right now. I find that ridiculous. How can I possibly get pregnant when I'm supposedly not ovulating and bleeding every day? The reason I'm so worried is because I was referred to a "specialist" prior to my transfer and was told by that doctor they wouldn't try anything else---so it's been a routine. Has anyone else gone through this? I could really use some help and am getting to the point of depression---waking up every day in pain and knowing it won't end. It's not serious, but I am sick and tired of being "sick and tired" along with the pain. My anemia just won't stand for this. :( I'm trying to just tough it out, be quiet and "deal with it" but I can't keep living in constant pain and bleeding. I need some relief. Any thoughts or advice from you ladies?? Thanks in advance.
