I just wanted to start and say how amazing you all are to share such personal information with everyone. You have no idea how much it has helped. I am 26 yrs old and was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 15. I have had 2 surgeries to 'pop' the cysts when I was young and then was started on BCPs. I have recently found out that there is a very high risk of Blood clots in the family (genetic testing on my mom) and was told to stop taking the BCPs. My doctor is going to start me on Avandia (4mg) this week to see if we can control the symptoms of my PCOS. From reading all your messages, it seems as if it is more common to be on Avandia and another med. Has anyone had sucess with Avandia by itself?? Any information would help!
