Glucophage and carb intake

I was just recently diagnosed with PCOS and have been prescribed Glucophage. I gradually worked myself up to 850mg 3x daily over a six week period. I had little to no side effects until I started taking the full dosage the past three weeks. I started having diarrea when I went on the full dosage. It is not immediate, but it is pretty consistant. This is a change, considering I was having great difficulty with constipation before starting the medication. I have also had a decrease in appetite and have had a hard time taking the medication 3x daily due to not being able to force myself to eat. I just feel "yucky", usually first thing in the morning and feel that if I take the medication I might get sick. Will this eventually go away? Is there anything I can do to help mimimize these "yucky" feelings? I was told to try and follow a low carb diet, but am having difficulty due to only being hungry for certain things. I will say that my cravings for carbs have decreased dramatically. Before, I would drink two or more 20oz. Mountain Dews daily, and couldn't stop! After being on the meds, I literally stopped cold turkey because it just didn't sound good anymore. I am still amazed at that, but I do continue to enjoy eating starchy foods like breads. Sorry so long!
