Re: One more timeFrom: anonymous@obgyn.netFri, 15 Dec 2000 20:54:25 EST
Kerry, I know (or at least can be almost certain) that if I go off glucophage, my receptors will still be resistant to processing my insulin properly, and not only will I probably start gaining weight again, but more importantly I would almost surely become diabetic since I was borderline when I was put on gluc. my pancreas was working WAY too hard. I have only lost 25 lbs since april but as my DH just reminded me this morning I have not GAINED one pound in those 8 months. At the rate I was gaining that is a minor miracle in itself. So I pulled the the scale back from the other side of the kitchen where it slid after I kicked it and decided I didn't hate it so much after all ;-) By the way, a lot of the women who begin taking glucophage only really start noticing a difference in the 3rd or 4th month (just when you would plan on stopping).... just something to consider.
