Hi! I have been taking glucophage (metformin) 500mg 3x's daily for 8wks. I have lost a little over 10 lbs without even trying!!! The meds make me spend an awful lot of time in the bathroom, but the weight has come off effortlessly.(NEVER in my life has this happened) Sometimes, I even have to FORCE myself to eat a bite of something just so I can take the pill(as opposed to being hungry all the time). EVERYONE at work, all my family and friends just go on about my weight loss....So I figure, this helps me to lose weight & have regular periods (there were nonexistent before)-- I can at least look good if I'm can't get pregnant!! My RE just upped my dosage to 850mg 3x's a day b/c my insulin levels weren't low enough yet to start taking clomid too...So, all in all, I would recommend taking met.--but beware of the stomach sickies!! (I hope one day it will all be worth all this hassle!) Good luck!
