infertility and PCOSFrom: natalie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 11 Dec 2000 15:25:17 -0600 (CST)
I would like to send a message of hope to all those women who have been told that PCOS is a definite diagnosis of infertility. I was told at the age of 19 that I would need 'help' (from the Medical profession) to get pregnant and to come back when I was ready. At the age of 21 I had my first child, the pregnancy was completely unexpected and unplanned. 18 months after having my first child, I had my second, after trying only one month for her In all of this time, from the age of 19 to now at the age of 26, I have had only two normal periods. Obviously I have ovulated at least twice, probably more but never knew. If you are seeking treatment for your PCOS but not a pregnancy, beware, my Mother is a Midwife and has cared for many pregnant women, who have PCOS and who have become pregnant after being told they would not. I am now trying Metformin (as treatment in order to try and prevent health problems in later life). I am not overweight, in fact have been underweight most of my adult life, I would like to grow breasts, has anyone out there using Metformin found this has happened. Natalie
