The simplest answer, though not entirely accurate, is that BCP treats the symptoms and Insulin sensitizers(Met) treats the problem... Many people think that the 'root' of the problem has something to do with insulin resistance and by treating that they are able to ovulate loose weight and reverse their syptoms in general. Taking Met or Avandia etc.. ,therefore, also helps address the associated health issues like heart disease, diabetes etc....BCP, as you know, can help by supressing the overproduction of hormones. Many of us take them both. no one approach is right for anyone, but I feel findinging out if you are IR is critical to getting the appropriate care. Good Luck
