Newbie comments & questionFrom: Karen (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 8 Nov 2000 21:24:38 -0600 (CST)
Greetings, I am a newbie (sort of). I complained of difficulties with blood sugar problems for a decade, finally some BAD acne caused my endo to do blood work. I never have typical symptoms of anything. I've been treated for pcos symptoms ONLY for about 4 years. I regulary see an endo for follow-up from thyroid cancer (25years) and they have all ignored my sufferings and complaints (for 2 decades). Finally I saw a new endo - a female with thyroid and pcos specialties. Today I had my 2 hour glucose & insulin bloodwork done. We'll see about meds soon. Meanwhile, I've started exercising daily and doing the high protein thing. I'm fine except for breakfast, ugh. QUESTION: how helpful have diet and exercise been for most folks? Cheers, karen PS - the only really bad part of getting treatment is that I may become fertile again. What a scarey thought. I'm 40 my 'baby' is 20. Been there done that.
