Hello Ladies, I have been reading a lot of people's posts and they've been helpful, but I would really like to hear more testimonials about people's experiences with electrolysis and lasers. I was diagnosed w/PCOS in 1995 at age 19 and and have been on and off BCP's since I'm 12. Right now I'm on Trivora 28. So far I have been unsuccessful in getting any endo to prescribe metformin b/c my insulin and glucose show up normal. My most marked PCOS problem is excessive hair growth. The most troublesome is that on my face. I tried spironolactone 4 years ago but I hated peeing even more often than breathing so I discontinued it. I went yesterday to a dermatologist who recommended laser treatment (of course she performs it). I am fair skinned and my hair is coarse and dark, but I'm concerned about problems with pigmentation and blistering. Also the expense, and is it really permanent? I was thinking about electrolysis too. I'm so sick of shaving my face every morning. I would just like to hear of people's experiences in more depth. Please post here or email me directly at anonymous@obgyn.net. Thank you.
