My doctor has prescibed me Metformin (Glucophage) and so far my periods have been 31 days and 30 days. This drug has not been proven safe or unsafe. I have read a lot about it and so far they say no births defects have been reported by taking it. I have also read that if and when you find out you're pregnant on this medication, take it at least through the first semester because miscarriage is a factor with PCOS. Also, insuranc will not see this as a fertility drug, as it is a diabetic drug that controls the insulin in your body. Hope this helps and good luck.
