Typically, people gain wieght while on Avandia. I have a moderate low carb diet(more complex carbs, whole grains, avoid simple carbs) and have been pretty good about exercising. I am losing wieght at a slow pace, I am comfortable with, 1/2lb +/- a week. No side effects, improved Insulin #s. My endo, who is great, likes the metabolic action of Avandia better than that of Met and prescribes it right off the bat. Cysts and wieght pretty much my only symptoms to start with. Hope that helps
