f& up periods on aldactoneFrom: jodi (poniewaz+@andrew.cmu.edu)Mon, 16 Oct 2000 17:19:46 -0500 (CDT)
i have been reading that aldactone causes irregular periods for the first 3/4 months. can anyone explain why this is? and will it really go away? i am spotting and i don't care for it at ALL. i had two days blood free after my period ended but then yesterday morning i got blood all over my bf and his bed and i didn't even know i was bleeding. sorry to be graphic but i was mortified to say the least. i am really not liking the aldactone for so many reasons now... i want to just quit it. but i am so terrified of the hair getting worse, or developing even worse symptoms... i hate that it's not addressing the underlying issues, though. it won't work if i quit taking it. and if i ever want to get preg i'll have to quit taking it. and if i quit taking it, i won't be able to get preg. and i'll get hairier which will make me feel even better about myself. grrr. i hate this disease. and i hate using band aid cures to treat it almost even more. if the gyne i see won't put me on met, i am gonna take all the articles i can find on it to my gp and beg him to either prescribe it or point me to someone who will. i don't care if its experimental. if you have a disease as messed up as this one, you'll take experimental, if it seems to be working for so many people. you'll take just about anything... (i mentioned it to him already, and he kind of poohpoohed the notion saying it was experimental. but i didn't take any articles about it in with me...) - jodi
