Re: Metformin/Avandia Combo...to Anne-Marie

Thank you for responding to my message. I'm not taking anything besides the Glucophage and Avandia. My doctor thinks that if I'm ovulating then the male hormones that are normally wacked out are in check. When I was only taking Glucophage, I lost about 12 lbs. I'm not obese, but I'm not tiny either. I'm currently 5'7" and 150lbs. I'm just frustrated because I feel like I have no control over my body. I eat extremely well in that I don't binge or eat a lot of junk food. I am not on a strictly protein diet because my doctor thinks it is unhealthy. Also, I don't know if I realistically could eliminate all carbs, but I make a conscious effort to eat more protein and limit carbs when I can. You mentioned birth control pills as a possible method of keeping the weight gain in check. However, I never had any PCOS symptoms until after I stopped taking the pill. Also, when I took the pill, I gained a lot of weight. I've tried Orthocyclen, Orthotricyclen and Orthocept.

Sorry to ramble. I appreciate the responses I've received, and look forward to more. I'm feeling kind of down today. My boyfriend and I have been talking about marriage, but I am afraid that I won't be able to have children. I also feel like a guinea pig with taking all of this medication. No one knows what the long term or even short term effects are for sure. Thanks for letting me vent. I look forward to hearing from you guys soon!
