I'm not sure what you mean by alternative. Dietary changes can be helpful if she has insulin resistance. PCOS is a systemic endocrine disorder and, I hope your sister has a good health care provider who is familiar with all the manifestations and implications of it. The most effective treatments I am aware of are through traditional medicine, though certainly lifestyle changes can be helpful.
