Diane!!

Congratulations!!! It is so encouraging to hear of other cysters having success with controlling this!

I followed a strict low carb diet for almost a year before I blew it. I have since started on a lower carb/higher protein, to see if that would work. I have read everything there is to read on low carb (Just look at my book bill!!! Lol) So if any of you have any questions maybe I can help...I'll try any way!

As far as losing inches instead of pounds. This is what is happening. You are losing fat and gaining muscle. Muscle takes up less space than fat so you are losing inches, but muscle weighs more than fat so the pounds are slower in coming off. That is why the tape measure is always a more accurate indicator of success, and it sounds like you are doing beautifully! The even more exciting part of this is that you are gaining muscle not using it as fuel. More Muscle=Higher Metabolism! So basically it is a win/win situation...

Hope this answers your question if not, I'll dive into the stacks of info I have to see if I can find out more...

Wishing you and your son continued success!!
