Marshenia, It's possible your doctor wants you to take it for the blood pressure lowering benefits too. I don't know your age, but I noticed around 35, my blood pressure started to go borderline high. Two friends who have PCO also noticed this. (These were the days before they discovered the insulin link or had any supportive groups!) If you're on it to also deal with blood pressure issues, it's possible that's the reason why you're on a slightly higher dose. It's a diuretic, so just make sure you keep drinking plenty of fluids!
