I've always taken mine twice a day. You might ask your doctor if this is an option for you. There may be a reason he wants you taking it spread throughout the day....he could be concerned it will affect your blood pressure somehow if taken just twice a day (perhaps he wants a steady supply of the medication in your system by taking it 4 X a day), or you may be taking something else or have some medical condition that he feels it would be better for you to take it more frequently in smaller doses.

Even though I've been told this is a very mild blood pressure medication, it's possible he feels you may react too strongly to larger doses at greater lengths of time apart.

I can really tell the difference in the hair growth since being on Spironolactone (also known as Aldactone), but it usually takes at least a few months to notice this....and it won't stop growth that is already there, however I feel it's made it less coarse and less abundant.

Good luck! (My motto is to NEVER be afraid to ask a question....that's what we pay these docs the big bucks for, isn't it?)

Hugs,

Shelley
