hi everyone. I have not been on for a while, some of you may remember that I had relatives (in-laws) coming into town. well they are leaving today...yippee!! Anyway, the doctor called me yesterday and said that my fasting insulin was 19, which is just below the labs normal range of 20. So he says that I am still WAY to hi and wants me to go on Met. I picked up the prescription on tuesday but am waiting until Friday to take it because I have heard that it causes cramping and nausea and such so I am going to start on the weekend. He is having me start with one 500mg tablet at dinner for a week. Then the next week move too one at lunch and one at dinner, then the thrid week up it to one at breakfast, lunch and dinner. Then my dose will be 1500mg. I think from reading this is about the normal level. I am curious if anyone has any advice for me before I take that first dose. I have to admit with all the horror stories I am a little nervous :) I have been fighting this since I was 13 so I am just happy to have something to battle finally. Thanks for any advice in advance :) Hugs to everyone.
