I had an experience similar to yours. I actually ended up self diagnosing and went to a group meeting where an RE was speaking. he talked to me a little bit and said that he was amazed no one had diagnosed me earlier, that there was something VERY wrong, and that he could tell I have PCOS just by talking to me. I went to my PCP armed with all the info thinking I was going to dazzle her and get help finally. Instead she was rude, called me fat and lazy, told me that I was fat because I did not excercies, told me I was going to die from heart disease, that I would have to have my legs amputated because of poor circulation due to fat, and that I would get cancer and if my heart did not kill me the cancer would. When i left there I was hysterical, but i got a referral to the RE I had met, he was wonderful! He answered all of my questions, he actually met me in his office!! not in the room, with me lying on the bed with my feet in the air :) He took the time to sit and listen, I am starting met this Friday and am hoping for good results. I lost all hope for help many many years ago, now I am on the road to recovery. Do not ever let one stupid doctor stop you. Hope this helps :) Take care of yourself
