Re: Fw: Questions on Clomid/HCG

I am very fortunate to have very good health insurance, my drugs and doctor visits, lab tests, and radiology visits are all covered. I also have a very good employer who is flexible with my time and allows me to make up time for my appointments.
I also use an over the counter ovulation test "Clear Plan Easy, Ovulation Predictor Kit". It indicates the 3 best days to have intercourse by reading your LH levels. It's not guaranteed, and there is a chance of a false reading because of the clomid. I was able to get pregnant 2x on clomid using these tests. One box contains 5 ovulation tests which is usually enough for one cycle, depending on the length of your cycle. It also contains 1 pregnancy test that you can use on the 1st day of your missed period, in the chance that you are "late". They are a bit expensive, I purchase mine at Rite Aide who seems to have them on sale a lot, and there are often coupons in the box for your next purchase.
Good luck, hope this helps.

Are there any other way to assure ovulation is taking place other than
visiting a doctor.I can see that those visits could be very hard on your
pocket.

> My doctor tells me not to give up until my next period starts. It is not
uncommon to ovulate late in your cycle using clomid. I have experienced the
same thing on 100 mg, but by day 16 I had a mature egg. The other thing
you should probably know is that clomid has some residual effect meaning
that it lingers in your system. So if it isn't working yet it may
eventually take off! My doctor also monitors me closely with a day 12 u/s,
if no maturing folicals he does another u/s at day 16, then another
ultrasound @ day 21 to look for over stimulation.

last month. Last month I ovulated and this month the u/s showed no mature
egg at 12 or 16 days, but my doctor said it was still possible to ovulate
late.
