Hi Lori -

The best advice I can give is to carefully comb through your insurance information to see if they *might* cover some of it. I fought with my husband's insurance for several months and they finally covered it due to some fine print and "grey areas" of their policy. Sometimes they will pay for some of the other medications (HCG or progesterone, but not the real expensive ones, but every little bit helps).

Also, some pharmacies are more expensive than others. Shop around to find the best prices in your area.

Another thing you can do is only buy it a day or two at a time. This allows you to buy only the amount you need without filling the whole prescription. (also gives you a chance to pay for it as you use it and gives a little more flexibility on financing)

One thing that I have done was utilize the Flexible Medical account from work to reimburse my medical expenses (medication and treatment). It still costs a lot, but you can pay for it in pre-tax dollars and the money goes 25-38% farther.

Lastly, talk to your doctor about your concern over the cost. Some meds are cheaper than others and some people donate unused medication back to the doctor for others to use. (for example, got pregnant and medicine expires before you could have another baby) They might be able to help you out some.

I hope this helps! Good luck!
