Need insurance info on injectablesFrom: Lory (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 10 Sep 2000 16:18:29 -0500 (CDT)
Hi, everyone. I'm going into my third month of Clomid (first two months didn't do anything, egg-wise). It's being upped to 150 mg/day. I'm also taking Provera to start my cycles, and in my third week of Glucophage for insulin resistance and trying to get help get pregnant as well.My doctor says the next step, if this round of treatments doesn't work, is to go with injectables. The problem now is that my insurance compnay does not pay for them! I'm told that it can cost between $700-$1,000 per month! What am I supposed to do? I'll be 39 in two weeks and the clock is ticking. I already have a 10-year-old son, so it isn't like I haven't been a mother....but I'm into a new marriage and feel this need to have another baby. I'm not ready to give up on the dream yet. Any advice? Does anyone know of a particular insurance plan that does cover fertility injectables? Or maybe a separate prescription plan that we can buy in addition to our current insurance? We are getting desperate. Thanks.
