aldactoneFrom: Jessica (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 9 Sep 2000 00:40:03 -0500 (CDT)
This is my first time posting to the board... I was diagnosed in April 1999 after years of being told there was nothing wrong with me in spite of my excessive hairiness, acne, fluctauting weight and heavy periods. I went on aldactone for about 7 months and didn't really notice any results. So I went off of it. I had ovarian drilling in December 1999 and for about a month or so after the surgery my hair growth decreased consideraly. The hair then came back worse than ever. Now in addition to my chin, upper lip, stomach, etc., I have hair on my chest that prevents me from wearing anything with a v-neck or low cut. I went back on the aldactone in april. I was on only 25mg until about a month ago when my dr. upped it to 50mg at my request. My question is: I seem to be experiencing decreased libido and possibly depression and am starting to wonder if it is the aldactone. Any input would be appreciated. Also, would like to here from anyone who is taking any of the other anti-androgens and what, if any side effects you are experiencing. Thanks so, so much
