I began taking glucophage on August 9. My doctor started me with 500mg once a day and has slowly increased it to my present dosage of 2000mg (1000mg 2x daily).I am beginning to see a change in my weight even after that time. I am one who has never been able to lose weight. I MEAN NEVER. Any time I have tried changes in my diet before I usually ended up gaining weight no matter how little or what I ate. I know this isn't much to most but during the past week I have lost 3 pounds. That is a major accomplishment for an obese woman who in the past has had NO success with anything. My doctor said that I would notice a shifting in my weight before I noticed any lose of actual pounds. I have noticed some clothes being looser in places that before were tight. I also have noticed my face is a bit thinner. I am thrilled so far. I haven't noticed any difference in my hair yet (I have lost lots of hair on the top of my head and have excessive hair else where.) My doctor told me that I might take as long as 10-12 months on the hair problems because of natural life span of hair folicles.

I am so thankful that I now at least have hope.

I am praying for all of you and I hope you will pray for me too.

Thanks, Sally
