Re: Migraines and PCOSFrom: Sharyn (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 30 Aug 2000 23:17:05 -0500 (CDT)
To Teresa Davis: I too have a daughter 25 with PCOS and severe migraine, actually Basliar Arterial Migraine, her condition has become so severe that the quality of her daily life is severely impacted. She has blackouts and sizures without warning, and is no longer allowed to go out of her apartment alone. I have contacted Cinncinati Jewish Hospital as they were doing a study on the connection between PCOS and Insulin Intolerence and treatment with metformin. they claim a 96% success rate for cures. I firmly believe that my daughters migraines and the PCOS is related and I am presently fighting to have her put on metformin to see if it can help her. I know that pain medication and the birth control pill on their own are not working. Please let me know if you have been successful in getting treatment for your daughter.
