Hi Everyone! I'm new to this board although I have posted messages on the other boards on this ob/gyn site. I was diagnosed with PCO and the doc gave me a few treatment options. Still having trouble deciding since part of the decision is based on whether or not I want to get pregnant. In the meantime, we decided to induce periods as not to cause create a problem with my uterus lining. He prescribed Prometrium. I thought he said it was Progesterone, but perhaps that is the generic name or something. I am due to start that on the 1st. I will take it for 12 days and should have a period and I will take it every other month. I plan to take it for a few months and then decide on a treatment for the cysts. Doc says it's not life threatening so I have some time. Has anyone taken this med? Any side affects? Has anyone gotten pregnant while taking this? It's not a fertility drug and it does not induce ovulation. Just wandering if pregnancy occurred by chance while on the drug. Another question. Doc has mentioned ovarian drilling several times. He says in 83% of women who have this done, the cysts go away and don't come back. Can anyone comment on this? Pros or cons, I'm looking for feedback.
