diagnosed only 5 months agoFrom: stacy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 28 Aug 2000 13:53:51 -0500 (CDT)
I was shocked and a little scared when my doctor told me that I had PCOS 5 months ago.I had no idea that something like this even existed. All I knew was that my periods had been coming only every 3 months or so since my daughter had been born. She is almost 9 yrs old now.No other doctor had been able to tell me what was wrong. They would always give me Provera to get me started again, but it always stopped. Then I met my current doctor and just by asking me a few simple questions he told me exactly what I had.I also have the insulin resistance and I had to wait on taking medication because I have signs of mild displatia.I got the good news a few days ago that I could finally start taking medication.I am currently on provera and glucophage. Then I will be taking clomid when my cycle starts.I am so happy that I found a place where I can talk about this and know that you understand what I'm going through.I am interested in knowing what side effects have you encountered from these 3 medications so I can know what to expect.Thank you for being here.
