TO SUE:vitimins and combinationsFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 22 Aug 2000 23:36:28 -0500 (CDT)
I appreicate your concerns. I should have posted the mg of each vitimin or herb I take daily. That would have been more responcipal of me. A year ago I was taking 1200mg of vit c a day but have lowered that to a total intake of 1000mg a day. I take small dosages over the course of the day. At the time I was on the higer dossage I was a smoker and studies have shown that smokers deplete their vit c more quickly than a non-smoker. The studies have also shown that a smoker absorbs vit c more readily than a non-smoker. Since I no longer smoke, I feel very comfortable taking 1000mg a day. I also have extensive blood work-ups every three months and so far so good. I know that many people would like to use some sort of natural remidies for treatment on their own but to be responcipal I would advise them to seek out someone who is well versed in this area and always check with their doctor beforhand. I am following a program that was designed for uniquly for me (my weight,my medical evaluation, my diet, my lifestyle and activity level were all taken into account before I started taking any type of supplements. I also cleared this with my gyno and endo and I would advise that to anyone who wishes to take vitimins or herbs. Some of them could be harmful if not taken properly. You really need to do your research and follow a trusted doctors advice first. I should have added this to my origional post. Thanks for pointing ths out.
