Patt, I don't know about how met will effect you if you wait till later in the day to take it, it would seem like you need to space the doses out so you don't get it all in the later part of the day but I'm honestly not sure. As far as the other symptom, I started taking Immodium AD when I am at work (not a great place to get the trots!!) and it's helped immensly and it's also o.k. to take with Met, also I have noticed the higher fat content my meal or snack has... the more likely I am to have to run to the potty.
