Becky, I've only been taking avandia for a month,but i definately feel better. they say there is often a weight gain-but with considerable effort, I have lost about 8 lbs,which is pretty fast for me. You need to be monitored for liver problems regularly, though they are rare. Also, if you are trying to concieve you will most likely discontinue use once pregnant. take alook at this looong article-it says some positive things about avandia vs metformin. http://www.infertilityphysician.com/androgen/pcos.html Good luck
