Yeah, I've been eyeing Dr. Lee's books at the local bookstore, but couldn't figure out whether to get the one on premenopause or menopause. Being indecisive at the best of times, this was too mindboggling to take on. I was leaning towards the premonpause ne and now, with your endorsement, will go for it; actually, probably track it down in the local library. Cyproterone acetate is the anti-androgen that's combined with bcp in Diane35, which you're probably read about (though I think you guys have to order it over the border covertly). It's legal up here in Canada, as it is in Europe. It's pretty potent stuff, having been originally developed to treat sex offenders (!). And, lo, they discovered it decreased secondary sexual characteristics, like body hair. So they decided to try it out on hirsute ladies -- and it worked (well, it doesn't make you like a baby's bottom, but it's a definite improvement). I don't know why your FDA hasn't approved it yet. It's been available here for a decade now, and in Europe for even longer. It has some potential liver effects but, with adequate monitoring (hence, why I have to see the endo regularly), it seems to be OK. I haven't had any trouble with it (other than the cost, but my drug plan through the grad students' union picks up 80% of that, lucky me).... My doctorate is in health policy; specifically, public and private roles in rehabilitation services. Good thing there are suckers like me interested in stuff like this! I think education is quite different up here. For starters, there aren't as many colleges and universities, certainly not the great number of small universities you find in the US. What's more, we haven't got any fully private universities (yet), so tuition is (or at least used to be, it's changing) pretty reasonable. Where are you studying and how long will you have to go after you start in Feb? Go for it (not that you need me to tell you this): an MBA's a good thing to have and you no doubt had to work hard enough to get through the door. You'll be poor for a while, but definitely not forever. A. (PS: You've got a great sense of humour, I can tell. Someone should do a standup routine about PCOS.)
