Mary Beth, be very careful. Yes, the symptoms coul d get much worse. Sometimes they 'go crazy" after a hormonal change, like the birth of a baby, going off the pill, etc. My daughter's body went crazy after she went off a bc pill at 15. She had always been very thin. She gained 40 lbs in 3 months and the hair grew in very thick and coarse. What pill are you taking? There are certain pills that are not good for PCOS and some that are. I can understand how some make you feel bad. Have you tried different kinds? My daughter is very progestin sensitive and gets depression from many of them. We finally found a good one. Also, you need to look at treating the PCOS. Have you been tested for insulin resistance? My daughter is IR and takes metformin, an insulin sensitizer. She lost the weight and is thin again! Please do some research from this board before you make any decisions and make sure your doctor is well versed in PCOS!
